Fixed Installation Testing & Initial Verification

Fixed Installation Testing or Periodic Inspection and Testing, as it is often referred to as a report on the electrical wiring of a property, outlining any defects it may have that may prove to be a safety hazard. Our fully qualified electrical engineers inspect and test these services in accordance with the legal requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS7671. We also offer an efficient, competitive, initial verification and inspection service which is an independent report that confirms any new electrical installation work complies with current British Standards.

Emergency Lighting Testing & Inspection

A1 Electrical Services carries out annual inspection and testing of emergency lighting systems to comply with BS 5266 Part 1 and BS 5266 Part 7. We undertake testing to make sure the lights operate for their rated period, signs are correct for the designated use, batteries are operating and all escape routes are illuminated correctly. Once testing is complete we issue a certificate that confirms your compliance with relevant regulations.

Thermal Imaging

Thermography or infrared thermal imaging is the most cost-effective method in determining faults in all electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment for industrial, commercial and domestic businesses.

Furthermore, it has an increasing application for domestic properties and can quickly and accurately identify structural issues and problems with buildings and can identify faults with heating, lighting and electrical systems and appliances, which are not visible to the naked eye.

Thermal Imaging technology has also revolutionised the approach to predictive maintenance. By pro-active early identification of potentially serious faults before they have a chance to fail, infrared thermography prevents sudden and costly disruption to critical operational and production systems by allowing repairs to be scheduled at a time which is convenient to everyone.

A thermographic survey of an electrical switchboard for example will reveal in seconds the location of any component with abnormal temperatures which may result in a fire, equipment failure or compromise staff health and safety...
